Welcome to Windy Poplars.

Windy Poplars is a group of four family farms, all operating in cooperation with each other; working toward the same goals and with the same purpose. The original farm, Windy Poplars Farm Ltd. was started by John and Linda Burns in 1975 at NE19-31-17-W2, where they raised their four children, developed a large farm yard and make their home. The farm continued to grow, incorporating always- new technologies and practices to stay current and effective.

In 1998, son Dustin and his wife Kristi and their family committed to farming and the farm prepared to grow to accommodate a new generation. In 2002, Dustin left his engineering job and they moved to NW7-32-17-W2 with their children and began to work to make the Four Winds Farm yard modern and efficient.

In 2003, Doug and Bonita Reeve joined the full time farming team and started building their home at SE14-31-18-W2. They and their children make up the Windy Ridge Acres farm, adding some land that has been in Doug’s family for generations, as well as another engineer to the group.

In 2008, son Tyler and his wife Janelle Burns moved to NE24-31-18-W2 to farm with the group. They have renovated an old farm house and are developing their yard and farm, Wayward Wind Acres.
